Violence Against Women by Men They Know

The above training opportunity is aimed at frontline staff and takes place over two days. This course will be particularly relevant to workers who have contact with women who have or are at risk of experiencing domestic abuse.

'Violence Against Women by Men they Know cover the following topics;

  • Defining violence - physical, sexual, emotional, psychological
  • Use of children within domestic abuse
  • Pressures on women to stay
  • Responsibility for male violence
  • Tape recording of one woman’s experience
  • Help-seeking process/six stages women go through
  • Additional Issues for women from marginalised groups
  • Community Collusion & Institutional involvement
  • Safety strategies for women
  • Creating a supportive response to women
  • Good practice & Interagency working

Cost

£50.00 for statutory agencies and £25.00 for voluntary agencies.
